This workshop will educate beginners and moderately knowledgeable attendees on the fundamentals of 3D scanning for inspection, part qualification, and reverse engineering, particularly in the context of additive manufacturing.
The workshop will include an introduction describing the history of measurement technology and the need for 3D scanning. There will be an explanation of the different technologies available today and how to determine which are appropriate for the attendees’ own application. These technologies include tactile scanning with CMMs, optical scanning including structured light and laser scanning as well as X-Ray and Neutron scanning.
Stations set up around the room with instructors will give attendees a hands-on experience with practical examples of 3D scanning hardware and software. Experts in their respective fields will participate in a question-and-answer panel.
Add this workshop to your registration for $250.
