W. Turnier Trottier is a Ph.D candidate in mechanical engineering at École de Technologie Supérieure in Montréal, Qc, Canada. He is a member of the Shape Memory Alloys and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LAMSI) under the supervision of Pr. Vladimir Brailovski. His research focuses on the design and optimization of lattice structures printed in polymer LPBF for PPE in contact sports. By integrating advanced surface treatments like vapor polishing, his work aims to enhance impact resistance and energy absorption in PPE. W. Turnier Trottier specializes in polymer-based AM technologies, structural optimisations, FEA and process optimization, with a diverse background in biomedical engineering, manufacturing and motorsports. He hopes his research will contribute to improved safety and performance in protective gear for athletes.
