Shaun Verrinder is a civilian Mechanical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division and currently serves as the Assistant Program Manager for the NAVSEA Technology Office AM R&D Program, leading their Afloat Additive Manufacturing Research & Development efforts. Shaun is part of a team tasked with assessing candidate AM equipment, both metal and polymer, for use aboard US Navy vessels. This includes characterizing the effects of the dynamic shipboard environment on not only AM system operation, but also the parts those systems produce, followed by developing methods to mitigate those effects and improve the operational reliability of the AM equipment used by the sailors. He earned his Master of Engineering Degree in Additive Manufacturing & Design from Penn State University in December 2022.
