New York Yacht Club American Magic
With a degree in mechanical-ocean engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Robyn Lesh currently serves as a key member of the design engineering team for American Magic. Sponsored by the New York Yacht Club, American Magic is the United States’ top entry to compete in the America’s Cup high-speed sailing race, now in its 132nd year.
Robyn is directly responsible for all additive manufacturing initiatives for American Magic, using the power of the technology to design a high-speed, aerodynamic racing vessel constructed almost entirely from carbon fiber. With a passion for sailing, Robyn is well-versed at exploring how 3D printing is applied in real-world nautical environments, enabling racers to sail faster and perform better than ever before.
