Richard Huff

Richard Huff is the Director of Industry Consortia and Partnerships at ASTM International’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence. He is responsible for leading the industry Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization (CMDS) and managing and expanding strategic and collaborative partnerships. Prior to ASTM, he spent four years with GE Additive where he was the Applications Director for Binder Jet technology, working with customers globally to identify innovative applications, quantify the business case, and create development plans for a pathway to production and qualification. Previously, Richard spent 20 years at Caterpillar Inc. leading teams focused on Materials and Manufacturing Process Simulation and development of Advanced Materials and Processes, including leading the program to transition Binder Jet AM technology from research to production with the launch of the Cat® MicroFoundry for “Additive Enabled” rapid production of low volume castings. Richard has contributed to the development of AM standards for ASTM, SAE and API. Richard holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
