Dr. Nanzhu Zhao is the manager of the Advanced Manufacturing & Sustainability Research Group at Nissan Technical Center North America. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on Manufacturing & Design, and an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, specializing in Business Analytics & Entrepreneurship. Dr. Zhao's expertise includes additive manufacturing (3D printing), generative design, sustainability and upcycling, and EV battery design and manufacturing. He holds over 15 patents and has more than 20 publications and invited presentations.
