Stan Winston School of Character Arts
Matt Winston, son of 4-time Oscar-winning FX wizard Stan Winston, grew up in a world of character makeup and creature effects.
While in high school, Matt began working at Stan Winston Studio, which led to work on cinema classics, including Aliens and Jurassic Park. After graduating from Yale, Matt returned to LA to learn CGI at the Stan Winston Studio.
Eventually, Matt began pursuing his passion as an actor, screenwriter, and producer. His acting credits include roles in Six Feet Under, Little Miss Sunshine, About Schmidt, Scrubs, and Fight Club. Matt co-wrote the feature comedy Thanks for Sharing, and his producing credits include the VR short film Kaiju Fury!, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
After Stan's passing in 2008, Matt joined the Winston family in founding the Stan Winston School of Character Arts, the world's premier online school for the art and technology of character creation. Since then, over 100,000 students have gained knowledge from the school's 250+ courses taught by Hollywood's leading FX artists and creators.
