Joshua Kincaid is a third-year PhD student studying mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee advised by Dr. Tony Schmitz. His research focuses on path planning methods and processes in additive friction stir deposition (AFSD), which is a large scale metal additive manufacturing (AM) process. His research is helping to allow AFSD to produce parts in a hybrid manufacturing process. He is interested in AM process development enabling more effective uses for additive technologies locally and abroad.
