Ian Crawford serves as Materials & Applications Engineer at Freemelt-Americas, where he leads technical development and educational initiatives. He holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Materials Science & Engineering from North Carolina State University (2022, 2020). Prior to joining Freemelt in 2024, Crawford managed research operations at NC State's Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics (CAMAL), where he developed expertise in both polymer and metal additive manufacturing technologies. His experience spans multiple powder bed fusion processes, including electron beam and laser-based systems, with focus on parameter development and materials characterization. At Freemelt-Americas, he applies his materials science background to advance E-PBF technology for critical applications in defense, energy, and medical sectors.
