Caleb Martin
Mechanical Engineer
Northrop Grumman
Caleb is a Mechanical Design Engineer at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems specializing in Design for Additive Manufacturing and new technology adoption. At Northrop Grumman, Caleb's energy is focused on applying AM to heat exchangers and understanding the risks associated with using AM to construct airborne, mission critical hardware. His portfolio includes air-cooled and liquid-cooled heat exchangers, quick react AM replacements for traditionally manufactured hardware, and dimensional studies of as-printed hardware. In moving liquid-cooled AM heat exchangers from prototyping to large rate production, Caleb encountered a knowledge gap surrounding AM heat exchangers' propensity to shed material. In the past year, Caleb and his team focused on characterizing the emission of contaminant from AM liquid-cooled heat exchangers. In addition to his work at Northrop Grumman, Caleb is an alumnus of the Pennsylvania State University's Additive Manufacturing and Design graduate program.
