Allen has always been an automotive enthusiast and spent 7 years working in different levels of motorsports as a mechanic, fabricator and Crew Chief on several professional formula car teams in the Indy-car and Formula Atlantic series. In May of 2000, Allen joined Honda R&D Inc. as a vehicle test Engineer at their R&D center in Ohio. After experiencing the frustrations of sourcing prototype parts, he started the Additive Manufacturing Lab and managed the machining/fabrication departments. He also implemented the use of FDM Technology for QC fixtures and body in white weld tooling, and is credited for developing new applications of FDM and Polyjet parts. His enthusiastic leadership and passion for technology increased the capabilities and inhouse equipment of Honda’s North American R&D center. Allen joined Stratasys in 2011 to promote FDM applications for tooling and production parts in the automotive industry.
