The goal of the Student Summit is to create interest, excitement and an appreciation for the technology, as well as to build awareness with students and educators about manufacturing career pathways. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
- Introduce students to the additive manufacturing industry as a prospective career pursuit.
- Provide a high-level overview of advanced design and manufacturing technologies, materials, processes and applications.
- Allow students to learn about how and why the technology is used along with examples of interesting applications.
- Provide students the opportunity to ask questions and interact with an industry mentor and see the technology firsthand at the RAPID + TCT show.
- Encourage and inspire students to share what they learn.
- Have fun!

Rippl3D Rover Design Challenge
Students will have the opportunity to engage in the design of a Mars Rover to achieve multiple missions: Mission 1 – Carry a payload over Mars rocky terrain; Mission 2 – Carry a payload over Mars sandy terrain. Ambitious teams can test their skills at optimizing their Mars Rover designs for both missions! Participants will have the opportunity to design, build and test their Mars Rovers to learn how wheel size & shape combine with a gear train to achieve the prescribed missions. For the creative types, each team will be required to develop a team logo. Recognition will be given to the most creative team logo!
