Various pump systems have been applied to the power plant. Among them, desulfurization pumps are required to periodically replace internal impeller and wear plate parts due to erosion by slurry. In the case of pump parts, wear and detachment mainly occur on the surface, and maintenance and regeneration of such parts can prolong the life of parts. In the process for repairing and regenerating, welding, joining and cladding are mainly applied, but recent development of additive manufacturing technology has enabled local precision regeneration. In additive manufacturing process, parts can be stacked in whole or in local, and if parts are discontinued or stock parts are not available, parts supply and delivery time will be shortened. In this study, to understand the applicability of additive manufacturing process for the repair/regeneration of power plant pump parts, powder materials of homogeneous composition and heterogeneous composition system were deposited on the part and characteristics according to process parameters were evaluated. Directed energy deposition process was applied to the deposition process, and high chromium white cast iron, which is a repair and recycling material, was used as a substrate. As a result, when the homogeneous material was applied, the cracks and the detachment occurred due to the high carbon content of the substrate material, and the nickel base material formed a good result. I plan to utilize it in the repair / recovery process of broken parts of power generation parts in the future.
