As a Manufacturing Innovation Institute part of the Manufacturing USA Network, the ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) Institute works to make robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) more accessible to manufacturers of all sizes to secure the U.S. Defense Industrial Base and support the overall manufacturing industry at-large. The ARM Institute does this by leveraging its 400+ member organization ecosystem comprised of manufacturers, robotics and AI providers, start-ups, universities, community colleges, MEPs, and other non-traditional DoD collaborators. By bridging the gaps between these diverse groups, the ARM Institute can identify pressing issues that pose a threat to our Defense Industrial Base and catalyze impactful solutions that dually address wider manufacturing needs and specific DoD needs.

In this presentation, the ARM Institute will explore:

Key impact stories from ARM Institute robotics and AI projects, specifically focused on projects that addressed both DoD and industry needs and a keen leaning on aerospace solutions
Best practices and lessons learned from these projects, as well as areas where further funding and collaboration could take the projects further
How the ARM Institute is working to make AI solutions for robotics in manufacturing more accessible both through project funding and programs to address data collection to optimize AI solutions

Attendees will walk away from this session with a keen understanding about how robotics and AI can address both near-term and long-term areas of need in manufacturing with a focus on real-world examples of impact. They will understand how organizations both in industry and across the DoD can collaborate with the ARM Institute on solutions. Finally, attendees will understand the future direction the ARM Institute is taking when as it relates to AI in robotics for manufacturing.
