Material extrusion printing or FDM/FFF printing is the most popular 3D printing technology in use today thanks to its simplicity in concept and extensive install base in the market. A recent trend in the industry has been to compare the speed of printers as part of a purchasing discussion. This has raised questions when comparing industrial printers. During the development of the F3300 printer, this challenge was presented with the goal to create the fastest industrial FDM printer for manufacturing applications. This talk will discuss the variables to consider when evaluating throughput using the data collected from a F3300 study.
