Who We Are and What We Believe

Women in 3D Printing logoWomen in 3D Printing (Wi3DP) is a movement of individuals from all over the globe, from diverse backgrounds, gender identities, and socioeconomic statuses, who have come together to have a stronger voice in the additive manufacturing (AM) industry. We are driving beyond our organizational foundations in gender parity to create, support, and promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive – and thus more innovative – workforce. We work to ensure no one feels excluded while working in, learning about, or being inspired by this world-changing technology.

We support and welcome everyone, no matter their gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion, socioeconomic background, disability, or sexual orientation.

Our Beliefs

Innovation is only possible when decision-making rooms represent the world in which they operate. Agreeing to disagree with and to be challenged by our peers is a privilege everyone should welcome. This is how we grow and strengthen our understanding and our industry. No one should feel isolated, ashamed, or unwelcomed as a member of the additive manufacturing industry. Individuality is welcomed, and does not impede our ability to do our work. There is power in the number of people who act for more diversity, equity, and inclusion. Everyone in additive manufacturing and 3D printing is a badass!

Our Goals

  • Create a safe space for all
  • Strengthen the presence of underrepresented groups in leadership positions and engineering roles
  • Generate and celebrate innovation and opportunities for all
  • Inspire students and additive manufacturing outsiders
