Dr. Peter Liacouras is the Director of Services for the 3D Medical Applications Center (3D MAC) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. 3D MAC is an additive manufacturing (3D Printing) facility within the Department of Radiology, which focuses on digital support and fabrication of 3D medical models and devices for our Armed Forces and Veterans.
Since 2006, Dr. Liacouras has applied additive manufacturing techniques and other digital technology to medical applications. He routinely designs and supervises the creation of custom implants, surgical guides, and personalized prosthetic attachments for the Department of Defense.
Dr. Liacouras holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Mathematics from James Madison University and a Master of Science, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy, in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University.
