Chelsea O'Donnell
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Purdue University
Chelsea O’Donnell is graduating from Purdue University in May 2025 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and is subsequently pursuing a thesis masters focused in advanced manufacturing and materials. As an undergraduate researcher, she is implementing nondestructive and destructive experimental methods to characterize and validate additively manufactured test structures for in-space applications. She previously conducted research developing numerical models to investigate the impact of micro-voids on the fracture dynamics of composite materials. Outside of research, Chelsea has manufacturing experience working at Purdue’s Mechanical Engineering Project Machine Shop as well as summer internships in the aerospace industry and the Department of Defense - areas in which she intends to continue making an impact.
