Dr. Sunil Kishore Chakrapani, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with joint appointment in Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University. He obtained his M.S and PhD from Iowa State University focusing on acoustic and ultrasonics for material characterization. His research interests include high intensity elastic waves, ultrasonic NDE for material characterization and flaw detection. He has been funded by NSF, DOT, EPRI and several private industries. He currently serves as the Associate Editor for Springer Nature Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, and special session chair at the Annual Qualitative Nondestructive Evaluation. He is active in the American Society for Nondestructive testing (ASNT) including being a research council member and vice-chair for the publication committee.
