Amit Choudhari
Graduate Assistant
Cleveland State University
Amit Choudhari is a Ph.D. candidate at Cleveland State University, specializing in metal additive manufacturing with a focus on binder jetting, powder bed fusion, and directed energy deposition. His research targets the optimization of printing parameters for novel materials, including AISI M2 tool steel, stainless steel 316L and 316H, and Inconel 718, aiming to expand additive manufacturing capabilities for advanced metals. Amit also explores conformal cooling channels in cutting tools, leveraging additive techniques to ensure uniform temperature distribution, reduce thermal stress, and enhance tool life. His achievements in this area earned him the Excellent Achievement Award for Doctoral Research. He brings expertise in microstructural and mechanical property enhancement, with a particular focus on high-speed steels; Amit’s work integrates innovative sintering and Hot Isostatic Pressing treatments to significantly improve part density and quality. He holds an M.S. in Mechanical from Cleveland State University, a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University, and previously worked as a Design Engineer for three years at Jacobs. Amit is committed to advancing metal additive manufacturing to deliver high-performance, industry-ready solutions.
