Andrew Purvis is a Mechanical Engineer and Manager for Additive & Composite Projects at Electroimpact Inc. During the past 23 years at Electroimpact, he has helped concept, design, install, and support integrated manufacturing lines for aerostructure companies worldwide. He currently manages projects involving automated composite part layup, fabrication, and additive manufacturing. The primary technologies he specializes in are flexible manufacturing cells built around quick-change modular process heads. These modular process heads include 3d printing heads for metallic and composites, Automated Fiber Placement (AFP), Automated Tape Laying (ATL), milling, routing, ultrasonic cutting, and welding. Electroimpact is one of the world's largest aerospace automation and tooling companies. It is based in Mukilteo, Washington, just outside Seattle, United States.
