Dr. Niall O'Dowd is the founder and CEO of Phase3D, a company focused on unlocking the next phase of additive manufacturing through in situ inspection and certification. His background includes a doctoral degree in Structural Health Monitoring from the University of California San Diego, where he invented Fringe, a technology which inspects each layer of the additive manufacturing process. He is the principal investigator on several multi-year programs for additive manufacturing certification for the United States Air Force, NASA, and Department of Energy.
