Mike York joined Eaton Aerospace in 2016 as the Director of Additive Manufacturing. He was the architect behind building and leading the program that achieved its first commercial flight of a metal component within two years. The program now has 25 customer-awarded metal components with over 100 under development globally. Mike has established a global team of AM professionals who drive the development of AM applications across each of the four Eaton Aerospace divisions, supported by two centers of excellence in the U.S. in Charleston, SC, and Southfield, MI, with a third under construction in Wimborne, England. In 2023, Mike was asked to expand his role to lead a new effort to revolutionize how Eaton Aerospace conducts engineering by embracing the latest digital tools and techniques. This effort includes leveraging design automation, machine learning, and AI techniques. Combining this capability with additive manufacturing has resulted in an exceptionally fast and efficient way to produce superior solutions for our customers.
