Paul Brackman is the Product Manager for X-ray at ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, bringing nearly a decade of experience in X-ray computed tomography for metrology and inspection. During his time with ZEISS, he has also worked extensively in additive manufacturing research and development, working on the characterization of components produced by powder bed and directed energy deposition technologies. In addition, Paul managed a direct research and development agreement between ZEISS and Oak Ridge National Lab, resulting in new solutions for the qualification and certification of additive components, methodologies and workflows for printer qualification/certification/equivalency and neural network-based X-ray reconstruction tools. Though his research and work spans various manufacturing industries, including aerospace, electronics, medical, power generation, automotive and new energy vehicles, his work currently focuses on advancing X-ray inspection in industrial quality by leveraging AI technology to tackle complex challenges and automate existing workflows in AM and beyond.
