As a Senior Additive Research Engineer II, Ryan Gruell supports new product introductions as a subject matter expert within the Biomaterials Research organization at Zimmer Biomet. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in assisting project teams with the implementation of additive manufacturing processes and the successful launch of new products into the market. He is also actively engaged in the exploration of emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and various platforms. Before joining Zimmer Biomet, Ryan accumulated 11 years of experience as a Senior Materials Engineer with Parker Hannifin’s Engineered Materials Group. During his tenure at Parker Hannifin, Ryan was instrumental in the development and testing of innovative elastomeric formulations designed to cater to the needs of global oil and gas clients. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Trine University. In his moments of free time, he can be found engaging in family activities with his wife and their three children, all of whom are five years old or younger.
