Dr. Darrell Wallace has a rich background in manufacturing and engineering. He holds both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, all from The Ohio State University. With nearly 35 years of experience, Dr. Wallace has worked across diverse industries, including metal forming, fabrication, assembly, machining, and additive manufacturing. His expertise extends to serving industries spanning automotive, aviation, defense, and general manufacturing. Darrell has been a subject matter expert on GD&T and MBE for additive manufacturing, contributing to projects in private industry and the Department of Defense. As a university faculty member, he taught mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering for 25 years. Dr. Wallace’s past leadership roles have included serving as a founding Deputy Director for America Makes - The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute and as the CTO for Texas A&M’s Secure America Institute. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Manufacturing Technical Fellow at the BlueForge Alliance and serves as a charter member and co-Chair of the ASME Y14.46 subcommittee on Product Definition for Additive Manufacturing.
