Dr. Vadim Jucaud is an Assistant Professor at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI). Dr. Jucaud has been part of the Terasaki Laboratory since 2010, where he started his research career under Professor Paul Terasaki in the field of transplant immunology. Dr. Jucaud has a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology, specializing in Human Leukocyte Antigen immunobiology. Dr. Jucaud received the American Transplant Congress Young Investigator Award in 2018 for his work demonstrating the impact of de novo donor-specific antibodies during immunosuppression withdrawal trials in liver transplant recipients. With the establishment of TIBI in 2020, Dr. Jucaud is leading the organs-on-a-chip team. Dr. Jucaud is proposing a unique approach to combine HLA immunobiology and organ-on-a-chip technologies for developing immunocompetent in vitro models. The long-term objective of Dr. Jucaud's lab is to engineer in vitro models to be considered by regulatory authorities as an indispensable step in accelerating drug discovery and development and promoting personalized medicine applications. Dr. Jucaud authored 54 peer-reviewed publications and 32 conference abstracts, with an h-index of 19 and over 1,060 citations.
