Mr. Zimmern is a Senior Research Engineer at the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas. His education and background is in Biomedical Engineering, and he has been involved with the use of Additive Manufacturing to produce medical devices and equipment for the last 8 years. Specifically, he is the lead designer and AM expert on the team leading development of a 3D bioreactor used for the culture and expansion of cells and tissues. Mr. Zimmern has led numerous development projects in the Medical Device and Regenerative Medicine fields, internally as well as for commercial and government clients.
