Samuel Donovan graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Missouri – Columbia, both in Mechanical Engineering. Since joining ThermAvant, Mr. Donovan has supported research and development through testing support, test fixture design, and oscillating heat pipe (OHP) design for manufacturability. Mr. Donovan is developing his subject matter expertise in metal additive manufacturing (AM) of OHPs by developing internal best practice of AM OHP design and evaluating the suitability of various AM techniques for OHP fabrication. Mr. Donovan’s experience has included AlSi10Mg, 316SS, Ti Grade 23, Inconel 625, GRCop-42, and Alumina amongst other materials using a variety of techniques such as selective laser melting/direct metal laser sintering, digital light processing, binder jet, and electrochemical additive manufacturing (ECAM).
