Dr. Hsu is an Associate Professor in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks at Arizona State University. He received his PhD in Mechanical Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. Since then, he has been devoted to research, development, and commercialization of his team’s innovative work in materials processing and advanced manufacturing. He has produced patented manufacturing techniques in additive, subtractive, formative, and hybrid methods for metals, polymers, and ceramics. In his role as a university researcher, he has served as the Principal Investigator for programs in areas of solid-state electrochemistry, scale-able nanomanufacturing, additive manufacturing process and materials, electroactive polymer smart devices, and CO2 capture and conversion. These programs have been funded by federal agencies including the NSF, NASA, AFRL, ONR, as well as tech firms including Intel and Northrup Grumman. His work has generated over 70 publications and patents. He is also the co-founder of Reverb Industrial and Radiate 3D aiming to bring radically accessible metal and polymer Additive Manufacturing technologies to market.
