Brand Communications Officer
Before joining MakerGear as Brand Communications Officer, Owen received his B.A. in Educational Studies from Hiram College before starting GuatemalTec 3D, Central America’s first educational initiative dedicated to providing 21st-century vocational opportunities to underserved adolescents through locally-led workshops in design, digital manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. In addition to serving as a member of the Digital Design & Manufacturing Technology Advisory Committee at Cuyahauga Community College, he currently spends his free-time working on a project aimed at aggregating a network of public and private partners that will help to ignite and accelerate real-world applications of 3D printing throughout North, Central, and South America. While not working towards his mission of helping organizations embrace and benefit from the emergence of disruptive technoligies and ideas, you can likely find Owen pursuing his primary passions: art, travel, and the great outdoors.
