Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. This talk will begin by providing a brief overview of Lockheed Martin various business units and will zero in into one of the business unit’s journey into polymer additive manufacturing over the past five years. The talk will highlight insertion points for AM process within a typical DoD program lifecyle. Several examples will be shared from each of the insertion points along with a specific case study of a flight training simulator, highlighting the enormous part count consolidation possibilities enabled by recent advances in large format additive manufacturing.
- Gain Insight into how Defense contractors are utilizing and Integrating Additive manufacturing as part of their operations
- Describe an actual example of AM is being adopted in flight simulators and training products
- Apply lessons learned from LM transformative journey into additive manufacturing into their own products
